Christmas 2009

Another great Christmas! It was spent at home this year. Grandma and Grandpa Poe came down on Christmas Eve. Uncle Jeff and Aunt Susan joined us for Christmas dinner and Ali and Troy followed the next day. I didn't do so good taking pictures this year. Its not because I was busy, Grandma Poe made all the food, THANKS SO MUCH! I put Grandpa and Carl to work installing a light in my shower with my Lowes gift card from Jeff and Susan. Aunt Ali and Troy spent an entire day moving furniture for the new mini-p. Thanks Everyone! We had a great holiday!!!!!!

Christmas Magic

Yes that return address is #1 Candy Cane Lane, North Pole

Here is the story:
About a week ago I was getting the kids ready for school. I was tired and exhausted and I just wanted everyone in the car and on their way. As I tell Nathan to put his shoes on he looks at me with this look and says “ I have not mailed my letter to Santa” UHHHH I think not now. Well I decided better do it now, don’t want to wait and then chance forgetting and well what then. So we got out the pens and very slowly he wrote each letter. I helped a bit in the end, we had to go. I let him put the letter in the mail box himself on our way to school. I came back that afternoon and to my surprise it was gone. I had forgotten all about the postage. How much does it cost to get a letter to the North Pole? I thought to myself well it was nice of our almost 20 yr old male postman to take the letter to the North Pole for us. Well yesterday I get the mail and this is inside.

Nathan tells Santa he wants " A lego train, a lego police station and a Snoopy Snow Cone Machine. Caitlin wants no part of the man in the big red suit. Caitlin wants a hairdryer set. I am not exactly sure what that is but that is all she wants. Oh and this is coming from the girl that will not let me blow dry her hair after her bath!

We drove to St. Pete last weekend to visit the Janicki crew and got to see friends. The kids did great for the drive (12 hours) and everyone had a great time! Can we go back now! It wasn't exactly the sunshine state more like the rainy cold state but we didn't let that slow us down.

Funny Things

The kids say so many funny things everyday and often I say to myself, I need to write that down but then forget moments later. Well today they both made me laugh. At breakfast Caitlin turned to Nate and said “ Nate are you a yes sir or a ma’am” It was so cute she thinks yes sir is one word.

During the day I often watch the news and until recently Nathan didn’t pay it much attention. This afternoon he came up to me and said “Mom are there tigers in the woods?” He was very concerned and I said no Nate there are no tigers in the woods. Then I realized he had been listening to all the stories about Tiger Woods! HOW FUNNY

Happy 3rd Birthday Caitlin

It has been so long since I posted and I admit its been a long two weeks. Aunt Ali and Grandma came for a fun visit just before Dad came home on then we all got hit by a cold bug. Caitlin got it first and she never gets sick, she had a high fever, runny nose and cough that kept her, Mom and Dad awake for a few nights. Nate waited a few days to get it on Mom and Dad’s much anticipated date night – cancelled of course, or at least postponed indefinitely. Mom got it over the weekend and now after a grand total of three trips to the doctors, two prescriptions of antibiotics, a nebulizer and two types of steroids for Nathan’s breathing we are all getting ready for a weekend of great food and fun. We have so much to be thankful for this thanksgiving. We are all healthy (well almost) and we get to spend it with family and Dad. We will be celebrating two birthdays – Caitlin and I are both turning three this week hahahaha Here are some pictures from the week.

I can't believe she is turning three this week! My baby!
She wears this outfit to school about three days a week. I am not kidding!

She has only taken this dress off long enough to get washed since Granmda brought it!

Fun with Aunt Ali.

Turkey cookies made with their own handprints. Mom only had enough energy to make 4 but that was just enough!

Nathan shows off his turkey, he was so proud!

Even dad joined in the fun!

Fun in the leaves. There are so many its really not fun after the first pile! Anyone want to come help rake?

Thanks Claire for the fall outfit, Caitlin loves it
