Well I didn't take any pictures this week, it was cold and I can't really remember what we did same old same old I guess. So here we are in February lets hope spring is just around the corner! Nathan has really grown up the past few months, he is starting to have more grown up conversations with me after we put the younger two to bed. I usually find a show we both like and sometimes we stay up past 11:00 talking before I realize its time for him to go to bed. He is just so chill, no matter what Owen does to him he just takes it in stride and is such a big helper with his little brother. When he asks me for a car when he turns 16 its going to be hard to say no as long as he takes Owen with him !!!!!!!!!!!!! He got a good report card this week. Report cards prior to third grade are grade less and rather boring and really tell you nothing but Nate is doing well. His teacher comment was as follows
Nathan is a fluent reader and his comprehension is excellent. He reads a variety of literature , which accounts for his well developed vocabulary. Nathan is an exceptional student, both academically and socially. With his natural leadership quality, amiable personality and confidence in academics , Nathan is a positive role model for his peers.
So there you have it, good job Nate! This week he is reading a new book series called How to Train your dragon" and he loves loves loves them. There are only 9 books in the series and he finished the first four this week so I ordered the rest from the library. He loves to read and most nights I have to tell him to turn off his lights well after 10:00 when I realize he is still awake and reading on a school night.
Caitlin had a good report card as well. Her teacher comment is as follows
Caitlin is my star writer....I love to conference with her at Writing! she adds details ( and sometimes humor)) to her stories and has become very particular about writing the entire story! She is reading on Level G , and can be counted on to help her peers with their reading... Keep it up!
I have no idea what a level G means but I guess that is good. So everyone can read and the science teacher in me is screaming SCIENCE , MATH , CRITICAL THINKING! well they have to start somewhere right!
I also have to say that its Lindsay that goes to the library every Thursday and brings 20 new books into our house for everyone to read. I go online and order the ones I know the kids would like for example last night I put horses and sea turtle books on hold for Caitlin and Nate's how to train a dragon and on Thursday they will arrive thanks to Lindsay and Owen THANKS!!!!!!!!
Well its the Superbowl tonight and I am going to watch the Baltimore Ravens win, the owner is an SSU grad! Oh yeah baby !!!! From a Seagull to a Raven! BRING IT!!!!!!!!
