Easter 2013

Wow what a week of fun we have been having! We drove to Aunt Ali's and Uncle Troy's for Easter, the ride up was not fun but once we got there everyone had fun and the ride back was smooth as glass! Here are some pictures of all the adventures and fun ...

Caitlin wrote notes to the Easter Bunny to make sure that everyone got an Easter Basket and he didn't let us down!


The Egg hunt had to be inside because it was rainy and COLD ! Surprise surprise.

Dad Board

I would be willing to bet there are not too many fathers out there that have an entire bulletin board dedicated to them at their kids school. Carl has been writing letters to Caitlin's class. The letter below the questions is the letter sent back by Carl and he sent all the pictures on the board for the students to look at. Good Job Dad!

Date Night

On Friday night Grannie had Owen and Caitlin as she wanted everyone for the weekend but Nathan had the pinewood derby and soccer on Saturday so I took him to her after his soccer game. I told Nathan we would go out to dinner ( I really really wanted to go out to dinner), I miss eating the most when Carl is gone, thank goodness for Grandma feeding me at least once a week!  So anyway I told Nate we would have a fun night hitting our favorite places, T.J. Maxx and Target but I wanted to go out to dinner first. He was so totally not interested. When we pulled up in the parking lot he said Mom I am not hungry. I told him to just give it a chance.  The boy could care less about food but I assured him he would like this place. So off to Amos Mosquito's in Atlantic Beach we went. He ordered Izzy the Octopus for starters and then I told him he would love to have smores for dessert! I have never seen him eat so much. We were there for two hours talking, laughing and enjoying our food! Last night as he laid down to go to bed he said mom " Can I take Aiden (his buddy) to Amos Mosquito's this weekend?" So like that I finally found a place Nate likes to eat! Amos Mosquito's anyone?????

Perfect end to a perfect evening! Building legos while mom watched basketball and he brushes his own teeth, gets his own medicine and puts himself in bed. Yes, I am sad to see them grow up but this part is lots of fun too!!!!!!

Here is Caitlin playing goalie, its her favorite and she is very good at it.
Well this is the winter to remember alright, cold temperatures that just will not go away, no snow and rain ohhh rain rain go away!!!! Spring is here at least that is what my calendar says, the days are longer, the trees are trying so hard everything wants to turn green we just need some SUNSHINE!!!! I didn't take any pictures this week , I don't think I even went outside. I told the kids to run laps around the house, I am not going outside until its warm!  I have some soccer pictures to post. Mom is running soccer season this year so each child gets to attend practice one night a week, and it makes it so easy!!!!!  We have piano on Monday, Catilin's soccer on Tuesday, Nate's is on Wednesday with boyscout after , Thursday Caitlin is at dance and Friday is a free day. Win win for everyone. I don't have to be in three places at once and everyone gets to do their thing! Saturday morning soccer can be tricky but my great friend Tonya always watches one kid while I head over to drop off the other, or last weekend she took Nathan to her house during Caitlin's game as Nathans game wasn't over when Caits started. One thing I will say about deployments you find out who your friends are really fast!  Nathan and Caitlin are both on great soccer teams. Nathans team has been together for four seasons now and they are amazing. I hate sounding like facebook but they are awesome. I am just going to go out there and say they really can't be beat and the reason why is teamwork. Yes amazing this group of 8 year olds have them most amazing teamwork I have ever seen for children this age! They pass the soccer ball down the field only to get to the goal and pass to another teammate for the score. Yes we have some standouts but they way this team works together would make any parent proud to say yes they are AWESOME! Usually by halftime we are telling the boys to stop scoring and practice passing to each other which still leaves them doing circles around the other team.  I am glad Nathan is on a winning team that truly is a team , I know it will not be like this forever so next year when this team gets split up due to being in a new league I can talk about the importance of loosing HAHAHAHAH!

Spring Spring please please come to stay!

Well I think we are all on the mend. Look at this get well card, Caitlin wrote to Nathan so cute. Owen is still sick but I think Caitlin and Nathan have turned the corner and please just please let it be warmer this week. I just can't be inside anymore or watch anymore tv!!!



My sick boy went to bed early most nights! He is still on a liquid diet.


Ohhh Nathan Nathan Nathan, couldnt play in his soccer game, we tried goalie but that didn't work out so maybe by week three of soccer this kid will be ready to play !!! UGHHHHHHH



Grandpa helped Nathan build his pine wood derby car!  A Ninjago pinewood derby car what a surprise!. He got first place in the wolves and third place overall ! Way to go!



Getting his trophy! Thanks Grandpa for all your help! Now you get to go to districts next weekend HAHAHAAH That will teach you to never build a fast car!

Happy Birthday Grandma, dinner was awesome last night so yummy and quiet hahaha
Nathan is not in this picture turns out I was wrong about him not being sick, and now the entire house has it, including Owen.

Owen was mad when he found out  the party was not for him, so Grandma was nice enough to let him help blow out the candles, now hes sick great idea! He spread his germs to everyone hahahah!

Sick So Sick..... not really!

On Owen's birthday we made cookies and he blew out the candle, (about 100 times until the smoke alarm went off)!




I got this down!


Owen didn't eat a cookie, he really does not like sweets.


 He does like nuts, and so after I put the big kids to bed, we might just sit down most nights and enjoy a cold beverage or a glass of wine with nuts!  He really hates sharing!


Crazy outfit day at school, ohhh we almost missed the bus but we got it all worked out!


Friday night we did a puzzle before bed .

Well I really don't think anyone is really that sick! I may have mentioned this morning that we were going out to get haircuts, go grocery shopping and then do homework and practice the piano. About three minutes later Nathan declared himself very sick, he went to the toilet and spit in it a few times proceeded to not eat his breakfast( that's not hard for Nathan) and he hasn't left the sofa all day. There is a part of me that wants to say get your butt in the car we are going but Aunt Ali did have these same symptoms after she left last weekend. She said she felt sick not really sick enough to get sick but could not move for a few days so here we sit. Of course today was Grandma's birthday I had big plans to pick up flowers and everyone made cards and we were going to surprise her but it will have to wait for tonight I guess when she is coming over for cake. So here I sit, I figured I might as well update the blog. Owen just walked by and said "Hi Mom"  I have not seen him for about 30 minutes so I am really afraid of what I will find when I walk upstairs but that's a day in the life of Owen. He brought me to tears on Friday night (first time since Carl has been gone) when  he turned the bath water of full hot and stayed in it. Grandma came to my rescue and all is well. He  just climbed up on my lap with a bag of peperoni's I guess its snack time. This morning I was awoken by a container of refrigerator cinnamon rolls in my face. He went and got them out himself and declared they were breakfast! It was really early and I am sort of  in a haze now. I am still not used to getting up with these people on the weekends ohhhhh I think I might need a nap now!
Its still cold and it just plain stinks! I am so over winter, I have worn every sweater in my closet too many times to count a true rarity for eastern NC. If Caitlin asks me one more time when Spring will be here I will cry!  We are in soccer season, and everyone is doing fine. Carl is fine, we just skyped him but Nate was just too sick to get off the sofa. Caitlin talked to him for 30 minutes about the movie Hop she was watching, and Owen walked past the computer twice and said "Hi" and Bye and then as soon as we log off, he sits there for an hour saying "Where Daddy Are?" OH GEEZ People!!!  Well I have 4 hours until I get to go have a real dinner with Mom and Dad at my favorite restaurant. I am willing to bet I am way more excited about this then my Mom is , I already know what I am ordering!!!!! So here we are ... ... more good times like always!
