I am on a diet!

Well we have had another exciting week. We started on Sunday with dinner with Claire and the boys, opened some some presents and had a great time. On Monday Lindsay and I took the kids to the dentist it was Owens first time and everyone did great. Owen didn't know what to expect and kept Lindsay close because he knew if he made it through that was job security so he always had an eye on her or would ask her for one last hug, like it might be his last HAHAHa. Which brings me to the title of the post. Caitlin had two small cavities. Of course the boys had none. Nathan who really just eats candy and never brushes his teeth. Well that night when we came home after I put the kids to bed. Caitlin was crying when I asked why she said she didn't want gold and silver teeth. I assured her that they now fill cavities white so she had nothing to fear. The next night as I get out of the shower she looks at me and says " I am on a diet" I had a heart attack ummm am I getting fat. Oh my god my 7 year old is worried about her body image! After the heart attack wore off I said "What " and she said " A no candy diet" I just don't ever want another cavity" WHEEW this has nothing to do with body image. Well the fact that she has cavities is heavy on her mind I have tried to assure her that some people just get cavities and its just bad luck, and your brother has good luck and you might have inherited your mothers luck!

I Have picture of Nathan in this very same outfit. I will have to post it later, everyone seems to need mom today! I am in high demand!

After the dentist we stopped by the mall and got Caitlin's ears pierced it was last minute but she had been asking to do it for a while so no time like the present! Time to open presents with Ms. Lindsay before she leaves for Christmas.
Caitlin loves her Barbie horse from Ms. Lindsay.
Owen got a boat, and its been a week of baths.
Nathan loves his new Diary of Wimpy Kid book , just like Lindsay said I hope it takes him more than 2 hours to read it, nope it didn't but he will re-read it, he also got a Lego.
Owen gives Lindsay a thank you hug. He loves her just as much as I do. The next few weeks are going to be tough!

Caitlin in her Christmas dress, one size bigger this year!

Owen made this letter for Santa, his is the lower part and then he called in Nathan when he realized he was having trouble with the letters. Having a three year old in the house at Christmas is so cute, the level of energy is amazing. I just don't know if I can keep it up for 4 more days!!!!

Spelling Bee Winner

Wow that was hard to watch! You want to scream out NOOOOO! when they start to spell the word wrong. The kids were nervous, well all except Nate he really could have cared less. I love that kid he is so laid back standing on the stage yawning! HAHAHAH It came down to Nate and Paige, she got the word impression and Nate got technician. His word was much harder, and he didn't try to spell it in his head first I clearly need to give him some Spelling Bee pointers for the next one. He had fun, I didn't talk to him about it prior because I didn't want him to get nervous, he definitely didn't look nervous as the kid next to him barfed on the floor, nate starts laughing geez Nate .........

Check out the bobble head trophy its awesome!!!! Can I be in the Spelling Bee
We had to go to DD and celebrate with two donuts and a four wheeler magazine!

Tis the season!

To feel busy busy busy, not to mention my busiest time at work coincides with the Holiday Season.
We had Grayson over for a sleep over last Saturday night, Caitlin stayed with Carlie good times.
Nathan and Caitlin had there piano recital on Tuesday they did great. I am going to put  it on You Tube for the family to view here in a few minutes.
Caitlin with her piano teacher.
Owen helping make sugar cookies with Lindsay. I was at work I might have bought one of the ingredients but probably not. Yes Lindsay is awesome, I don't take her for granted. I know how lucky I am to have her. She is thanked all the time and Santa is really good to her.
Caitlin showing off her cookies!
Wow and they taste as good as they look. This week we have had  a Grandma cookie delivery and Bryan and Morgan brought some, my house is filled with cookies I love it!
I heard through the grapevine that Nathan was the most help!!!
Time for our annual gingerbread house/train decorating party. Owen loved it.
The kids had dressed up like Ninjas prior to the event, very festive wouldn't you say!
Its a Ninja santa party!!!!
We started the morning with snowman pancakes and I made them all by myself. Lindsay was not here I swear! I even stopped at the store on the way home and got the ingredients.

I am writing this blog post instead of grading exams so that's next on my list of things to do. Owen is talking so much, at times I even feel like saying please kid shut up but I don't dare not yet. Last year at this time he wasn't even talking. We have a busy busy, busy week planned but it should be fun and they grow up fast so I guess we can't waste a minute.

We started off Friday night with steamed oysters for appetizer, ohhh so yummy! I didn't even have room for pizza.
It was off to Wilmington yesterday to go ice skating. After our warm up on Wednesday night we were ready for the real deal. The kids loved it! We had help , Lindsay and Scott came along. Scott is on the adult hockey team in Wilmington. With three kids all going in different directions it was nice to have someone who could get to them in a matter of seconds. I am thankful that my mom took me ice skating as a kid but when you go ice skating the south you can bet more than 75% of the people can't skate, its wasn't me I was worried about its all the other people who can't stop. But all was well and no one ran me over.
To say Owen loved it was an understatement that kids was  crazy  he would get so tired his legs couldn't hold him up and then take a 5 second break and say " I go ice skating now" It was awesome!!!!

Lindsay holds Owen , he loved watching the Zamboni. After a long day ice skating we hit Carolina Ale House for some much needed burgers and Ale. The kids played pool while we had dinner. Good times had by all!

After a long day Ice skating Rudolph was on t.v. bonus! Great times

Look who we found

Nathan enjoying some sugar cookies made by Lindsay! She is so awesome, this week she made sugar cookies, and took the kids for  sleepover last night , she took the kids to see the Nutcracker at Cherry Point. They had a blast.
They were so yummy I hope we get more this week!

This letter came with our new elf " Jack" Santa sent him on Tuesday evening and the kids love him. Mom is not that happy about the extra work but oh well its all in the fun I guess.

Santa came to Nathan and Caitlin's school, I didn't ask Nate because I thought the answer would be no, but he went with the flow, easy going Nathan!
Nathan telling Santa he wants a remote controlled boat for Christmas.

 Nathan's holiday concert, very nice.

Pancakes and Sausage

Every night when I put Owen to bed he asks  me if we can have Pancakes and Sausage for breakfast because he knows that means mommy will not go to work. LOL, don't worry Owen in just one week we will have lots of time together. Check  out the kids in their Christmas p.js. Oh I love it I just love it and Nate is such a good sport, I know my days are numbered as to how long he will put on matching jammies with a smile. In other news I am considering making the blog private as Nathan is getting older and I think its time. It just means my regular readers would have to subscribe by sending me an email. More on that later.
Caitlin with the tree , cutie

Yes that is my son giving me the hand because he does not want me to take any more pictures.
