Typhoon Lagoon

We spent our last day Typhoon Lagoon, it was nice and relaxing. Nathan surprised us by snorkeling in the reef tank only 70 degrees , they made you wear life jackets so you could dive down and touch the sharks and rays. Nathan went twice, he loved it and I was a proud mama. You know what this means, once we get Caitlin swimming the Bahamas for spring break is calling our name!!!!

These were the rays in the shark tank.

Nathan ready to go.
Heading off with daddy in the shark tank.
There was something for everyone at Typhoon Lagoon. Owen heading down the water slide.
Hey mom thats fun but how do you get back up! Too funny we had to show him the stairs!
Owen heading down the waters slide. I don't have any pictures of Nathan at the big kids stuff, oh he is fearless. I took him in the wave pool the waves were huge, even me, super lifeguard got a little nervous. I used to teach the coastguard rescue swimmers how to swim and I was nervous. HAHAHAHAH I survived ! Owen had a blast.

Off to the side of the wave pool they had a bigger water slide that Caitlin went down. While Nate and Daddy went down the big kids water slides, Owen enjoyed a Mickey Mouse Ice cream, and he even shared it with his mommy. OH are those things yummmmy!!!!

Animal Kingdom

Day 2 was spent at Animal Kingdom.

The look on Nates face priceless!

This giraffe came right up to the trolley, it was cool!
The petting zoo always a hit!
The kids loved dinoland!I didn't take picture of the ice cream at the end of the day. Moms favorite part!

Well it will take a me a few days to post about of all of our spring break adventures but first lets start with Nathan! The best news of all, my boy is feeling much better. On Wednesday morning I noticed his lymph nodes were very enlarged after a trip to the doctors we had antibiotics, steroids and enough medicine to treat everyone at Disney with every known childhood ailment we were off. He went from blowing 130-150 in the peak flow meter to 225!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well and because we are on the topic of boys, we can talk about Owen who is making progress in speech new words this week include "Go" and "two" .

Easter Easter

Everyone loved their Easter baskets, and it didn't take Owen long to learn the sign for candy, like about 30 seconds and now he uses it all the time!

Aunt Ali and Uncle Troy were here to watch but I never saw them raid the Easter baskets...?????

Caitlin dressed herself and the baby doll she is letting those bangs grow out.....
Let the great egg hunt begin, turns out the squirrels got to a few of the eggs before we did, eating through them to get the chocolate crazy huh
Some heels didn't slow my diva down, nope she had to look good and get her Easter eggs!

Owen says why are we doing this anyway, oh wait there is candy inside ....!!!!!

Had to end with Owen eating corn on the cob so cute so very cute, he liked it but I think he liked to move his mouth down the corn cob more ! So funny I need to video tape it next time. Corn season is just around the corner!!!!
Owen did great in speech this week, his new therapist is awesome!!!! He is saying mommy now and he has learned a few new signs and really starting to watch us when we speak!
Nathan is not doing much better but the doctor gave him some antibiotics today , I noticed his lymph nodes were swollen yesterday so we spent the afternoon at the doctors office. Good times ughhhhhhh !

Mom Guilt!

Wow what a week! I can say without a doubt this was one of my hardest and I wasn't sure if I should post how I feel about it on the blog but here goes. I want to record every aspect of the kids childhood. When and if they ever decide to read the blog book I want them to know that this Mom and Dad stuff is hard work and we are always striving to do our best. You know there is something to be said for a mothers intuition I will never forget when Nathan was six weeks old and I knew something was wrong with him and wasn't sure if I should take him to the doctors but deep down I knew I should. I remember waking up from a nap and at this point I was nursing him every 2 hours and it had been six hours during the day. To make a long story short, I will never forget the look on the doctors face when we took him in the ER and they opened his eyes and they were so blood shot they were red. Nate would spend the next three days in the hospital and I vowed to always and forever follow my intuition with my kids. Well fast forward to Nathans life year 6. Its another soccer season and nothing shows how Nathan is unable to keep up with his peers than soccer season. I haven't been a big part of soccer this season so when I went to a practice the week before last and saw him struggle I knew it was time.Time for me to not just treat his asthma but time to figure out how to manage it. Last weekend Nathan had breathing problems at night and by Saturday I was worried. We had a limo rented with friends and so I knew we had to go out but I was able to drive home at the end because by now my mom powers were telling me be alert at all times! On Sunday night Nathan needed his inhaler and Monday morning I called the doctors office. It went down like most appointments. The nurse asks me how he's doing, I say well not so good I am a bit worried about his cough and ....... She takes his blood oxygen and then puts it on the other finger to get a better reading. I could tell by the look on her face that ohhhh man! And then it happened that knot that you get in the bottom of your stomach that makes you want to puke! She did a pulmonary function test and said I think I will go get the doctor and the nebulizer..... uhhhh MOM GUILT! Seriously I had no idea. Nathan is so hard he will tell you he is fine on his last breath. Well by this time Carl was there and the doctor came it to tell us what horrible parents we were . I admit it I was not doing everything I could have, should have.Although its hard to do anything when you don't really know. Okay well whats done is done, the doctor told us if we didn't start giving him all his meds he could have COPD at age 30 and on oxygen-- I think that was a scare tactic but it worked!
So anyway here we are Nathan's asthma medicine has been increased from 1 does 1 time daily to 4 doses 4 times daily for 4 days and then 2 doses twice daily and four times a day we are monitoring his peak airflow. He had to have treatments at school last week and my phone rang twice when they ask for me my heart skips a beat and well I just am not cut out for this asthma thing. As of now I have not seen any improvement so we will head back to the doctors tomorrow and get a check up so we can go away for Spring Break next week. I want my happy go lucky kid back that loves to run and play soccer and as for me well I don't know what I will have left to deal with Caitlin and the teenage years between Owen and speech and Nathan and Asthma but all I can say is next week is Spring Break AND
WE CANT WAIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Easter 2012

Yes you read that correctly. Today was Easter in the Priechenfried House. We told the kids it was Easter and no one knows the difference. Nathan may figure it out tomorrow at school if he asks any of his friends but I don't think he will. We will be in Florida next weekend and so we had Easter today , we spent the day yesterday making our bunny cake and coloring eggs. Today we woke up to Easter baskets. The bunny brings awesome baskets the week before because he's not as busy! We had a Easter Egg hunt and then Easter dinner with Aunt Ali and Troy before they had to head back to Virginia. Fun Fun!

It was a little messy with Owen helping!
Caitlins favorite egg , yellow!
The kids couldln't wait to eat the bunny cake. Sorry for having to give you chocolate ears this year but I ran out of white frosting.

Ballerina

Caitlin had ballet pictures on Thursday evening. It was a bit crazy getting there in time but we did it. I had all three kids because Carl was coaching Nate's soccer team. Owen decided to give shaving a try in the shower while I wasn't looking. The cuts weren't that deep but there were three and you know how they bleed. Oh blood everywhere, and he kept running to me and I didn't want to get it on Caitlin and ohhh it was a real fun!

What a cutie, we have many good times ahead of us!

This is at Grandma's house our house is a bit of a construction zone right now with our entire backyard a series of ditches as Carl is doing a DIY project that may never reach completion.
