Nathan goes to Kindergarten and Owen is 6 months old

Wow what a week. I am exhausted just thinking about it! Nathan started school, it was a rocky start but after one day I think we are on track for a good week next week.

Nate waiting for the bus!
Bus 386 is here. I spent an entire week teaching him his address, phone number, teachers name, bus number. I was not nervous about putting him on the bus but .......

Here is Nate getting on the bus but don't be fooled he actually didn't ride the bus to school. He got on it and just as I swallowed and said to myself okay there goes my baby... he got off the bus. I looked at the driver and she said " Kindergarteners don't ride this bus" What I spent minutes looking at the paper... researching the bus schedule. We did a practice run the day before, it took me hours to get the kids dressed , pump up the tires on the jogging stroller, pack lunch....... What do you mean this is not his bus!
Okay off to school we go in the van!

Here is Nate being dropped off for his first day of school. His teacher is Mrs. Salmons and I think it will be a great fit! Nathan came home on the bus and said he loved it! He had a great first day.

In other news Mr. Happy is 6 months old. He is starting to crawl and really loves all things food. He hates to be put down and is a very happy baby as long as you feed him lots and give him 100% of your undivided attention. He will still not drink out a bottle and today I was trying, and yes I have tried everything. The kids were outside. I always do it when it is quiet no distractions. Nathan walked in and said " mom he is too distracted" Now I even get advice from 5 yr old! thanks Nate

Crawling towards the cat. You better move here I come

Aunt Susan and Uncle Jeff came for a visit this week. After two days of rain I have never been so happy to see anyone in my entire life! Thanks so much!

Soaking Up Summer

Caitlin reading Owen a book.
We went to the beach on Friday night and Caitlin saw this outside of one of those junky beach stores. She has never been so excited about anything in her entire short life. She said I have to have it. Daddy I love it ! I love it!. Carl is always on the lookout for gators in the creek so we had to have a pet one!

Taking Ali- gator for a test ride! We had a great day at the pool. We spent the weekend at the beach and pool. I love the last few weeks of summer when the tourist have gone home and its all so empty!

Pictures out of order oh well I tried. Nathan after

Nathan jumping off the diving board!

He had to pass the base swimming test to jump off this little tiny diving board. He had to swim 25 yrds without stopping using the front crawl or back crawl and tread water for 60 seconds. Good job Nate!

A little bit of this and that!

We celebrated Carl's birthday in Maryland. Happy Birthday to the best husband and dad in the whole world!

Everyone helped Dad open presents. New things for his train set. Christmas here we come!

Nathan takes a ride on Leo's ( next door neighbor ) jet boat.

What post wouldn't be complete with out Nate's thumbs up!

I am happier these days and some days I let mom sleep until 5:30 am instead of the usual 4:00am. That makes her so much happier!

I love my bath time.

Look who can sit up all by himself! Why is that crazy lady smiling at me?

Maryland

We had a great week in Maryland visiting. Grandpa took us for a sailboat ride. Thanks
Owen took a nap on daddy!

Nathan and Caitlin were just dreaming of the swimming pool back at the marina.

Nate had to check things out down below with one of Grandpa's many flash lights!

Ahh and now pool time, everyone loves a cool pool on a warm summer day even Owen.

Carl and I celebrated our 7th Anniversary with a nice dinner out and a ride in a hot chic car. The mini-van is just not date material. Thanks for the wheels grandma.

No trip would be complete without hot Grandma chocolate chip cookies. so yummy!
We also enjoyed visits with Shelly and had fun catching fireflies.

Summer Please Stay

Where has summer gone? My little boy, my first born had two weeks of kindergarten camp. He walked into that big school all by himself. He rode on the school bus! In two weeks he starts school. I guess I am ready. More later I promise!

Funny Things

The kids have been kids all week. I am counting the days until school starts!

A few funny things

Nathan was at swim lessons and his swim teacher was making him work on breathing while he moves his arms. I was watching and Nathan noticed me. While she was not looking he gives me a wink with one eye and then gives me the thumbs up. I thought I was going to pee my pants.

Caitlin ohhh so much to say but probably the funniest is her toughness. This morning she fell down the stairs. On her way down she is saying “I’m Okay” She says “ I’m okay” no matter how bad it is . On Friday night Nathan lowered her finger in the car window and before as I got it unstuck before the blood even entered her pinky she said “I’m okay”

I was at my wits end with the kids one day and finally after Caitlin asked me if she could do something 1,000 times I said “I DON’T CARE” She looked at me and said “Mom, is I don’t care a yes?”

Owen 4 months

Owen is 4 1/2 months old. He is in the 50% for weight and 75% for height. He weighs 14lbs 6 oz and is 26 inches long. He has started rice cereal and is doing okay eating, a few bites have gone down the hatch, mostly what goes in comes out but we do it every evening. He will not take a bottle which is frustrating but we will keep working on it. I have also tried apple juice in a bottle but no luck. Oh well. We had a great week, Dad took the week off work in preparation for his move to Virginia next week. Dad and Nate spent a day at the waterslides. Caitlin had dance camp all week and both kids had a blast at Vacation Bible School. I am in shock I am scared to death I have no idea how I will pull this off but all I can do is hope and pray that I can handle it. Carl and I worked hard this week to try to get things ready, we got the laundry done! Do you think we call all wear the same clothes for the next year? We cut the grass, I am sure it will not need cut for at least 3 or 4 days? I went to the grocery store and that usually lasts for about 24 hrs. So like I said I think I have everything under control here. Well at least for the next two days so only 350 or so to get through! Wish me luck!

Eating rice cereal.

Working on his fine motor skills with cheerios.

Funny things that were said this week"
Caitlin and I were driving to Princess Ballerina Dance Camp. I said, "Caitlin, time for dance camp, get in the car." As soon as we got in the car she said, "Mom, are we there yet?" I said "One minute Caitlin, it is just at the end of the road." Caitlin said "Well, where are we going to camp?" Uh oh, seems she thought she was going camping...sorry Caitlin, it is just day camp when you are three!
Caitlin says from the other room, "MOM CAN I GET A HAND?" She needed help!
