Caitlin Ballet!

Caitlin had her ballet recital on Saturday! Oh if they could stay this cute forever! She was so happy, so excited!!!! You did great Caitlin we love you!!!!

BOAT!

BOATS!!! Well time for an Owen update. I don’t think I will ever forget this one but lets blog it anyway. One of Owen’s only words and the only word that he uses consistently is Boat! It sounds like BOOOOAAA. If you have ever been to Eastern NC you know that most of the people don’t have much but everyone has a boat. Every single time Owen sees a boat he yells BOAT! It never gets old and on a single car ride he can see more than fifty! As for Owen and speech it’s still slow going. He doesn’t use words to communicate but does sign and he is trying at times. The more speech therapy we have and the more research I do the more I feel this may be Apraxia rather than just a delay which is a bit unsettling as you just have no idea how and when speech will become “easy”. I am still keeping my fingers crossed that it is the latter but it’s not looking good. There are many basic sounds that he can’t do and he really has trouble moving his mouth and well we have word loss, which are all hallmarks of Apraxia. I really noticed it this week when the speech therapist tried to get him to say a two syllable word and he was not even close. Although Apraxia is not diagnosed until age three so we will just keep working at it and hope for the best. This week he has said “ That”, “Up” and “Hot” now if we can keep these words and use them is the real test.

SO I had so a fun weekend with my sister, seeing her place, maybe doing a little shopping and going to Heidi’s graduation and seeing Holly after her graduation and being at the graduation party and getting to hang out with my mother on Mother’s Day. I even got to help carry really heavy furniture and realize I am still the weaker twin, always will be I guess. Oh boy oh boy coming home is always kind of a shock to my system! I know everyone had a fun weekend with Dad because Caitlin was already sleeping on the sofa at 6 pm and Owen was throwing a temper tantrum in the driveway when I pulled up and Oh it was hard not to turn the car around and keep driving. In the night I heard coughing and thought oh poor Caitlin she is so sick she sounds horrible like a seal and I went to check on her only to realize it wasn’t Caitlin its Owen. You have got to be kidding me this child has only been well for one week and now Croup the worst one of all! Well time for me to take Caitlin to preschool, her last week yes her last week. Then it’s off to speech with Owen, a wonderful car ride with Owen. Yes, I am back and my weekend wasn’t quite long enough!!!!!! I guess I am supposed to end this post with I wouldn’t trade this for anything hahaahahah and I am having fun but it is the blog and we have to tell all sides to the story and it is fun for mom to escape every once in a while, but now back to being MOM!!!!!

The Plague

I am not sure what to call this post. We all got the weirdest virus here, well everyone except for Nathan yes I said that right. Carl keeps saying "Oh what if Nate gets it" It is the weirdest respiratory infection ever. It starts with a three days of fever. Carl took his first sick day ever in his 16 years in the Marines. I did not move off the sofa for three entire days and I mean didn't move. Then like that it moves to your chest and you cough for 10 days straight. Yep that's it nothing else, it just sucks real bad!!!! Owen had it for  a solid three weeks and the coughing always ended with throwing up... oh the laundry! Caitlins got it now and you know tough Caitlin she could be on her death bed she won't let it slow her down!!!! She even takes care of herself in the night! Today is the first day I am really feeling alive so here I am ready to get caught up and hopefully going to have a germ free summer! Granny took the kids for a sleepover last weekend, but I was still not feeling my A game so I tried to rest although its hard to rest when you just cough cough cough cough! Okay on to bigger and better things lets see. SOCCER IS OVER!!!!!!! Nathan and Caitlin had fun and we may do it again in the fall when we forget how much fun it isn't.

Nathan got his last reporting period interim report card today. His teacher writes that he continues to do well in all academic areas. He is an exceptional student academically, and a true team player in the classroom. He is always willing to work cooperatively with others on projects and willingly takes on responsibilities in the classroom. Way to go Nathan, keep up the good work!
In other Nathan news I took him to his allergy asthma doctor and he told me I was doing a good job.! That man has never said anything nice to me and I usually leave the office in tears. So I guess I get a check plus too!!!!!

 We put the boat in the water this weekend.  It was a warm week and it was great to feel the warm breeze in our face!

Caitlin wow I have so much to say. Well first things first.My little girl lost her first tooth when we were on vacation. Oh she is growing up so fast. Last week we went to kindergarten registration and she though she could go the next day. No separation anxiety problems with any of my children!  Caitlin yes you are the middle child and I don’t get to spend as much time or give you as much attention as I would like but you are just so tough! These boys lately take up every spare second. Owen is on day 8 of being sick and Caitlin you just roll with it.  Yesterday, you asked me where is the pencil sharpener ? I said it’s on the desk in my office. You said “No I want the one you do with your hand, I don’t want to waste power” HAHAHAH I LOVE MY LITTLE ENVIRONMENTALIST! You have been asking me for a week now how to spell “Happy Mothers Day” oh I love you Caitlin. Just yesterday you said “Mom which way would the B bump go” HAHAHAHAH  “Whichway does the D bump go?” I love you Caitlin!!!!
Owen…… OH Owen.. You are so cute, that smile just melts my heart but wow do you give your mommy hard times! He has started talking  although he doesn’t really talk to communicate which at times is so so so so frustrating. He now says NO to everything. He also says “AW MAN” too funny!

Nathan is all better, good thing because now Owen is sick.Nathan is busy reading every book in the school , the kid loves to read. He reads a chapter book every night before he goes to bed.  He will read through 80-100 pages. I am jealous, I make it through about 6 before I fall asleep. Okay well we are off to speech tomorrow morning. Twice a week is speech and guess what we just finished our last soccer practice of the season !!! Yippee! Now if we could get Owen talking and get rid of this speech thing we would be good to go. I sure hope this not talking thing doesn't impact our beach and pool time. Got to go I have work to do!

Happy Birthday Nathan 7 years old!!!!

Happy Birthday Nathan! He had Aiden over for the entire day they did boy things, played Lego Nijago, Beyblades, Water gun fights in the yard and built legos!Blowing out the candles on the choclate birthday cake with choclate icing!

We even had a birthday party at the Janicki's house is St. Pete. Oh and dinner too it was so so yummmy!

Legoland and Winter the Dolphin

Nate got a trip to Legoland for his birthday.

On Thursday morning I took Nathan and Caitlin on a quick trip to Clearwater to visit Winter the Dolphin from the movie Dolphin Tale. They loved it!

St. Pete Beach

After a few days at Disney it was time to hit the beach. St. Pete beach to relax and rest and have some fun in the sun! OH the weather was so perfect so perfect!!!!

Owen wore his board shorts and sunglasses one day on the beach can you say chic magnet. I didn't have my camera that day but it was so funny, everyone that walked by waved and smiled at him.

Mom come on , I am so ready, do I need to carry this bag myself. Hurry up lady!!!!

I could see the pool and the beach from the room, usually by 2 Owen was in need a nap and so I could relax a bit and watch everyone having fun by pool. I could also see the bar! Owen was crazy crazy crazy at the pool. Even mom spent lots of time at the pool the water was so nice and warm!!!!

Owen is fearless! He loved jumping in to anyone who would catch him. Crazy kid!
